Living in South Fulton is a great choice for people of all ages. From great schools to great entertainment, South Fulton’s proximity to what most consider the economic center of the South truly makes this region a land of opportunity. Enhancements to the region are continuous and the economy is showing no signs of slowing down.
The Camp Creek Market Place project will feature 872 single-family homes and 196 townhouses, plus 10 tennis courts, two swimming pools, a three-mile hiking and biking trail, two gymnasiums, and sports court and a playground. Phase II of the project will be a 724-acree property for mixed-use office space, retail and condominium lofts and 148-acres of retail village with markets, restaurants and a movie theatre. The developers have also incorporated 268-acres of open space, 100 of which will be donated to South Fulton’s Parks and Recreations Department. Two already developed communities include Cedar Grove and Cliftondale. Natural beauty comes to mind when you think of the Cedar Groves and Cliftondale communities. Divided by Highway 92, the Campbellton Palmetto Highway, these communities have a rural flavor that beckons anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful existence. Made up of older homes on large one-plus acre lots these residential neighborhoods are ripe for development. Walden Park, the first large development in the area in quite sometime is leading the way with moderately priced to high end homes carved into roundabouts and tree-lined streets. Residents are striving to preserve the charm and character of these neighborhoods while working with bidding planners to introduce new developments to further strengthen infrastructure. One example is Stonewall Tell Elementary School. This school is the area’s most recently built and is quickly moving to the head of the class so to speak. With small class sizes, the school is a dream come true for parents seeking quality educational opportunities for their children. Overall, the schools in South Fulton rate very well. A. Philip Randolph Elementary has a very strong academic base with great parental participation. The new Sandtown Middle School is ranked as the best middle school on the Southside. Parents and friends of Westlake High School have been pushing to have a second high school built to meet the demands of the population growth and their efforts will be rewarded as a new high school is slated to be built by 2009. For those seeking to pursue an education beyond that of high school, several colleges and universities are located close by. Georgia Tech is situated near downtown Atlanta while the other major state school, the University of Georgia, is located approximately two hours away in the college town Athens. Also in Atlanta is world-renowned Emory University. Gwinnett Technical College and North Georgia College and State University are all located within 20 minutes of South Fulton. South Fulton is the fastest growing part of Atlanta and is quickly becoming the most highly developed stretch of land around. If you are seeking to move to the Metro Atlanta Area and are looking to buy a home in a sophisticated market where fine schools are as prevalent as fine dining, then look no further than the many residential neighborhoods that make up South Fulton County. |
